Councillors and Community Safety Team, working together for the Victims of Domestic Abuse

Christmas is a time for peace and good will, when we surround ourselves with family and friends, however it can also be a time of heightened tensions.  It is also a time of year when incidents of Domestic Violence and Domestic Abuse rise.  The combination of coercive, controlling behaviour, blind anger and the influence of alcohol in the confines of the home can give rise to the most horrendous incidents of abuse and violence.

If you know of, or suspect, that a family member, friend or neighbour suffering from  any form of Domestic Abuse, then please keep an eye out for them and report anything that concerns you.  If there is an ongoing incident that requires urgent action then please ring 999 and ask for the Police.  If you have information of a non-urgent nature then please contact the Police on 101.  Hillingdon Council’s website also has comprehensive information regarding all forms of Domestic Abuse, and where to find help, which can be found HERE.

I wish everyone a truly happy and peaceful Christmas and new year.
